To bring their vision to life, Syngenta's team aimed to create an out-of-the-box agritech model that revolutionised agri-commerce and opened a digital sales channel for buying and selling seeds and pesticides. The Syngenta team leveraged StoreHippo’s cutting-edge ecommerce solutions to organise agricultural distributors on its multi-vendor, multi-store platform catering to the unique requirements of farmers in different Indian states.

Challenge- Transforming Agri B2B Supply Chain Into a Future-Ready Digital Ecosystem

The first challenge was building a marketplace website that could accommodate hundreds of agriculture-based sellers across India, ensuring each seller had a unique store with unique inventory, discounts, taxes etc. This required a sophisticated future-ready platform capable of handling extensive customisation and scalability.

Efficient order routing was another critical aspect. Syngenta team needed a system that enabled the admin teams to match the farmers' orders with the best-fit distributors and their stores. This streamlining would significantly reduce the time and complexity involved in their current process and speed up delivery.

Additionally, Syngenta needed mobile apps for different user groups. These apps would provide admins, sales personnel, and field staff with real-time communication and decision-making tools. Also, Syngenta required customer-facing apps to enable the farmers to place orders on the go. Similarly, their distributors needed an app to manage their end-to-end business using their smartphones. 

Due to its diverse networks of sales personnel, distributors and admin(s), it was imperative to have a central dashboard for Syngenta's top management. This would allow top management to oversee all operations and get a transparent business overview for making informed decisions.

Syngenta wanted to build an agritech multi-vendor marketplace ecosystem that made buying easy for the farmers, opened a digital sales channel for its distributors, streamlined fulfilment and introduced operational efficiencies through automation. It was an out-of-box business approach and finding the right technology was critical to achieving Syngenta's goals.

Syngenta required a feature-rich, flexible, user-friendly platform to handle such a large-scale setup and operations. Syngenta was looking for a well-rounded enterprise ecommerce solution that did not require too many apps or extensions, could make quick customisations, automate its processes and offered scalability to support its growth plans.

StoreHippo’s multi-seller solutions standardised the sales process for Sygenta. Network of Seller Sub-Stores

Each distributor sub-store had a unique inventory, order and inventory management solutions and a separate feature-rich dashboard to manage the end-to-end business. 

Central Dashboard 

Having central control and complete business visibility becomes essential for enterprise ecommerce solutions of the scale Sygenta aimed to implement. StoreHippo implemented role-based separate dashboards for different parties along with a unified central admin, giving Syngenta management 360-degree visibility into processes, business activities, distributor networks, and stock levels.

3 Different Mobile Apps

To build a customer-centric agritech solution Syngenta needed mobile apps for its different user groups namely; partner distributors, admins and buyers(farmers). Syngenta made good use of StoreHippo’s mobile-first solutions and built-in mobile apps builder to build its marketplace app for farmers. 

StoreHippo also provided the admin and vendor mobile apps to the Syngenta team to take the business completely mobile.

Multilingual Marketplace Website

To expand its reach across diverse regions, Syngenta built a multilingual marketplace website using StoreHippo’s native multilingual capabilities. With a marketplace in 9 languages namely Telugu, Hindi, English, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, and Urdu, Syngenta was able to establish a better rapport with its buyers who could now make informed decisions by evaluating Syngenta products in their preferred language.  

Automation 

The daily operations at Syngenta involve coordinating various internal teams, distributors, and fulfilment partners. This necessitates multi-level, repetitive tasks and a constant flow of information across departments. StoreHippo simplified these processes for Syngenta by using its built-in modules to automate various tasks for each team. Everything from order allocation to fulfillment was streamlined through automation. StoreHippo also automated customer support by giving a feature of raising issue directly to the customer.
